What started with an inspirational story 60 years back, Thaggu Ke Laddu has finally come to town! The owner of the chain, Mattha Pandey, started the joint 6 decades back after listening to Mahatma Gandhi speak at an event. It wasn’t until later that he revealed that the name – Thaggu Ke Laddu was a publicity gimmick to attract customers! And by god, did it do wonders!
If you ask anyone at the shop what their tagline is, be ready! Because it’s possibly the funniest thing you’ve ever heard in your life! Thaggu Ke Laddu‘s tagline is plain and simple – “aisa koi saga nahi, jisko humne thaga nahi!“
Isn’t that just glorious? 😉
And that’s just how funny yet, delicious their sweets are too!The little shop here in Gurgaon sells two of their most iconic laddus and the badnaam kulfi! Which, if you think about it, may have been inspired by the Bollywood song – Munni Badnaam Hui, but who knows? 😛
