Sink Into The ‘Afterglow’ This Weekend With The Piano Man Jazz Club!
The Piano Man Jazz Club never fails to live up to its name. Even with all the EDM artists coming to Delhi for their maiden or consecutive trips to the country, the club keeps rolling out fantastic events featuring Jazz bands from around India. Well here they are with yet another stellar round of jazzy beats & tunes! Delhi! Say hello to Afterglow!
30 Second Window:
- Afterglow is the brainchild of Jazz lovers & artists – Rie Ona, Sonic Shori, Shivam Khare & Manoj Mavely all based jazz(y) people!
- Rie Ona plays the Saxophone along with the Clarinet for the band & has been playing her instruments of love since forever. After taking Clarinet lessons, Rie started playing the Alto Sax & mixed her love for Jazz with her emotions to play some groovy tunes!
- Sonic Shori has been playing the Bass since childhood. In fact, he is the student of Grammy nominated Greek American musician Panagiotis Andreou. His playing style combines complex tunes with melodies mixed with great dexterity, musical(ity) and tenacity.
- Shivam Khare is the most distinguishable student award winner from SAM, New York. His teacher, virtuoso pianist Jason Lindner, personally trained the man with a plan to change the outlook of Jazz. Adept at playing both western classical music and contemporary music, Shivam brings a fresh breathe of air to the genre!
- Manoj Mavely is the first ever Drummer from the Indian subcontinent to be awarded a $28,000 scholarship to Berklee College of Music, Boston. His interest lies in Afro-Cuban, Jazz, Funk, Rock & Brazilian styles. Also, he has played extensively with Chicago based Jazzman Tyris Washington amongst many others.
