Chez Jerome Q Cafe Is Delhi’s First LGBTQI Cafe & We’re Super Proud Its Open!

Chez Jerome Q Cafe might sound quirky, but every great movement did until people saw the beauty in it. The reason we wish to refrain from calling the cafe quirky is because it’s not! It’s a beautiful rendition on what cafes in Delhi should be rather than what they have become. Chez Jerome Q Cafe was started by head chef & co owner, Sambhav to support the LGBTQI community of Delhi. For all who don’t understand the acronym, LGBTQI stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender, Queer & Intersex. However, Sambhav adds that even Asexual people are welcome to the cafe as the mission is to spread love & conquer those fears & boundaries.

30 Second Window:

• The need to change the outlook of existing cafes in Delhi is to create awareness. Awareness toward the needs of a community that needs to be accepted rather than shunned!
• When was the last time you went to an all LGBTQIA cafe outing in Delhi where heterosexuals were banned from joining in one day? The point is not to create a deeper barrier against the community but to create a healthy, safe environment!
• So people of that community can first kick back & relax. Instead of joining in on a party with heterosexuals who might hurt them, emotionally! Chez Jerome Q Cafe allows everyone to come dive into their plates of thin crust pizzas & delicious pastas.
• As long as you’re no hater, ignorant fool or homophobic, this place is perfect for you to chill at. With an open air balcony overlooking the green expanse of Lado Sarai, Chez Jerome Q Cafe is a silent love affair. With the sun setting beautifully down its belly against the horizon, the view stunning every evening!
• They have to got special snacks for which people throng this place, it costs ₹50 & ₹70, vegetarian & non-vegetarian respectively! The cafe even has a flag representing equal right & justice – tempered by mercy & love. The cafe is probably the most modern of all we’ve seen in Delhi!
