Good News! Delhi Doctors Are Back On Duty

Know It All In 30 Seconds

In the wake of recent events, where a junior doctor in Kolkata was attacked and seriously injured allegedly by the relatives of a patient, doctors in West Bengal went on a week-long strike. To express solidarity with their counterparts, doctors in Delhi were on strike as well and had withdrawn non-essential medical services such as OPD, and held protests.

But doctors across various hospitals in Delhi resumed their duties again on Tuesday after the strike was called off in West Bengal. This happened after Mamta Bannerjee assured them of steps to scale up security at government hospitals. Doctors at the Centre-run AIIMS, Lady Hardinge Medical College and Hospital, and RML Hospital, and Delhi government’s healthcare facilities such as GTB Hospital and DDU Hospital were the most active during these protests.

‘While patients faced inconvenience due to the boycott, thankfully, everything’s in back to normal now!
