Khan Market is one of the most well-known markets and was established in 1951 and consists of over 150 shops. It was named after freedom fighter, Khan Abdul Jabbar Khan.

In a recent interview, Narendra Modi had mentioned the “Khan Market Gang”, saying that his identity or image was built by his own toil and work and not the Lutyen’s Delhi or the Khan Market gang. Tanwar claims that he got the idea to write this letter after seeing Modi’s interview and changing the name will only promote the country’s rich cultural and mythological past. Interestingly, Tanwar has no association with the market, neither is he a resident nor a shop owner in that area.

Let’s wait and watch whether the government acts on his request or not!
