After 8 Long Years, Delhi Metro Fares To Be Hiked Tomorrow Onward, Maximum Fare Now ₹50!
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation board on Monday accepted a proposal to increase rider fare. The minimum Delhi Metro fares – Wednesday onward – will be increased from ₹8 to ₹10 & maximum from ₹30 to ₹50-₹60! The fare revision comes after 8 stupendous years in the business of making commuting easier for Delhites.
30 Second Window:
- Delhi Metro officials said, the fare revision will be implemented in two phases – starting 10th May & 1st October.
- There will be a total of six fare slabs as against the existing 15 fare slabs, with a minimum fare of ₹10 & a maximum fare of ₹50 – ₹60.
- Under the phase I starting on tomorrow, metro rides will cost ₹10 up to 2 km, ₹15 from 2 to 5 km, ₹20 for 5 to 12 km. Further, ₹30 for 12 to 21 km, ₹40 for 21 to 32 km & ₹50 over 32 km.
- Similarly, under phase II from 1st October, a metro ride will cost ₹10 up to 2 km, ₹20 from 2 to 5 km & ₹30 for 5 to 12 km. Also, ₹40 for 12 to 21 km, ₹50 for 21 to 32 km & finally, ₹60 over 32 km.

- You continue to use your smart card, as the 10% discount on Delhi Metro fares will be continue to be in place. Also, we suggest that if you don’t use a smart card, you better start!
