Delhiites Will Soon Be Able To Get 40 Public Services At Their Doorsteps!
No more standing in long queues for us Delhiites! On Monday Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal cleared the scheme for doorstep delivery of services.
The scheme, that will take action in about two months, will allow you to get important works involving government departments done by a third party without you having to step out of your home! How convenient is that!
The home delivery facility will be provided for 40 services across eight government departments.
Services include getting caste certificates, registration of marriage, and birth and death certificates, driving licence, transfer of ownership of vehicles, old age pension scheme and new water or sewer connection.
All you will have to do is call on the government’s helpline numbers where ‘mobile sahayak’ will be assigned to you. He/she will come to your house to take the necessary documents, complete all formalities for you and hand over the certificate at your home.
This doorstep delivery service will be available for a nominal fee. It is likely to be for Rs 50 but is yet to be finalised. Although a definite timeline is yet to be given for the project to start, according to the sources it will at least take two months to kick off!
Once the scheme is launched, the government plans to add more services on a monthly basis.
It’s time to say goodbye to those never-ending bank queues!
