Implementation of free rides for women in both bus and metro has been a buzz topic in the recent days. The government comes up with an alternate approach to implement the exemption in the city’s buses first.
The proposal will take few months for it’s implementation. The proposal is yet to be placed before a Fare Fixation Committee(FFC). The DMRC has estimated that an annual subsidy of around Rs 1,566 crore will be needed from the Delhi government if the scheme gets implemented.
