This Global Pride Month Gear Up For Delhi’s Saturday Pride Party Night ‘What A Pride Night’
Hate crimes towards the LGBTQ community have been on a rise. Safe spaces are required more than ever. These safe spaces need to exist outside of activist circles as well.
The performance stage is one such space. And this event has stemmed from the need to present a diverse front on the stage and in the performance narratives.
In the spirit of World Pride Month dedicated to promoting Queer & LGBT issues on an international level through parades, festivals and other cultural activities, What A Comic Show, GK -2 is hosting an inclusive event featuring queer-identifying performance artists.
With the first and only queer party happening in the Delhi for the #Globalpridemonth, this event will surely make you say ‘What a Pride Night!’
Curated by Performers Consortium, What A Pride Night will be a reflection of the undying spirit of humankind to be their true selves and celebrate their identities with pride.
The night promises some fabulous showcases of spoken word, rap and drag queen performances aimed towards bringing transviolence to light, all of this powered by a queerified DJ set along with visual storytelling by an all queer artists line-up.
Present to celebrate the night will be performance poet, rapper, psychologist, and event curator Divya Dureja, Drag Queen Randy Scarhol, and Lush Lata aka Nandini Bansal as the DJ!
We’ve heard that they have got many more surprises lined up for all the attendees. They have got queer comic themed photo booths and décor, and a special game hosted by the drag queen and the emcee. The winners of this game shall win free shots on the house!
The staff has also been given gender awareness and sensitisation training and the venue has got gender neutral washrooms.
This event welcomes all LGBTQIA+ folks and allies. Homophobia, transphobia, sexism and any other form of discrimination will be opposed.
