Seems like it is time to take our parties indoors! After a dozen people died in a fire at a Mumbai terrace party, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has taken things into its own hands regarding Delhi’s safety.

NDMC has decided to put a ban on all rooftop parties in Lutyens Delhi! Restaurant and bar owners must abide by the trade license conditions, and any infraction will lead to cancellation of their license!

And whats more?  It does not simply apply only to the bars and restaurants in Connaught Place and Khan Market, but also include the clubs and cultural centres.

This ban has not only been put on bars and restaurants, but even the houses in Lutyens Delhi are banned from hosting parties on their terraces and serving food and alcohol there! These houses will soon be broken and reconstructed.
