Delhi To Shift To A More Eco-Friendly Fuel Than CNG Soon

Its been almost two decades that Delhi shifted to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a cleaner, eco-friendly fuel alternative to Petrol or Diesel. Although almost all public transports from buses to autos and cabs use CNG, private vehicles have been also opting for it. And it did initially make Delhi environment a better one to live in. But now, we seem to be getting back to square one.

However, Delhi is soon planning to curb this by introducing a newer, a cleaner & greener fuel than CNG.

Delhi To Shift To A More Eco-Friendly Fuel Than CNG

  • A shift to Hydrogen-CNG (hydrogen enriched CNG) as the new greener alternative.
  • EPCA ( Environment Pollution Prevention and Control) stated in a report to the Supreme Court that uses of Hydrogen-CNG can reduce the CO in the air and other hazardous emissions by 70 percent.
  • H-CNG trial runs on 50 buses in and around NCR to begin later this month.
  • If successful, we’ll get H-CNG buses running from next year onwards!

So Delhiites, if this happens, Delhi will be the first city in India to opt H-CNG for public transports.
