T1 Of Delhi Airport Is Getting Expanded To House 40 Million Passengers!
So, Terminal 1, after a long time is getting revamped, expanded and somewhat renovated too! According to sources, the terminal will have a revamped terminal, a new runway, elevated taxiway & an internal rail system. Isn’t that cool? Although, it might have struck you, where will all the passengers be shifted? Terminal 2 of course!
30 Second Window:
- Delhi International Airport Limited will be constructing a fourth terminal apart from T1! Also, this terminal will have an hourly capacity from 75 flights to 105!
- And that’s not it, it’s not so bad that it’ll it take 2 years to build! From 1st October, one-third passengers of Indigo, GoAir & Spicejet will be shifted to flights which will be operated from Terminal 2.
- Nearly 8 million people will then be going to T2 to catch their planes! Since Indigo & Spicjet fly on international routes, the next 3 years they will operate from T1, T2 & T3. Confused a bit? This might help –
DforDelhi Recommends:
- That you wait until 2018 for the project to start! And then again wait, until 2020 for it to be completed.
