World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is hosting a special nature walk in the Lodhi Gardens this week to create & increase interest around trees in Delhi! Experts from WWF will host the walk as guests discover the beautiful trees of Delhi that make our usual days fruitful & eye catching.
30 Second Window:
- According to the Economic Survey of Delhi 2014-15, the city had a tree cover of 297.81 sq km in 2013. Or 20.08 per cent of the total area of the national capital.
- The number of trees & the its various kind are innumerable & hard to define considering we, on a daily basis, hardly pay any attention to them!
- In regards with the kind of trees Delhi has, surveys show that Delhi is home to hundreds of thousands of Pipal & Ashoka trees.
