Traffic and Delhi, they are inseparable. One will have to leave 1 hour early to reach their destination on time. The number of vehicles on the Delhi road is limitless. The hustle to reach office/home early is an everyday phenomenon that is best seen on the narrow roads. To curb the issue, Delhi is all set to get a 6-lane highway that will ease the traffic problem in the city.
A 6-lane, access controlled highway will be built from Akshardham to Baghpat on Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE). The highway will be 31.3 km long and will connect Akshardham, Geeta Colony, Shastri Park, Khazuri Khas, Delhi/UP border, Mandola and EPE section on its way.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari will lay the foundation stone of this project on Republic Day. The project will be developed in two stages . A 14.75 km stretch from Akshardham to Delhi/UP border. The other will be a 16.57 km stretch from Delhi/UP border up to EPE section.
The corridor is expected to decongest the traffic and contribute to the pollution levels in Delhi and NCR. Get ready for a smoother ride without the hassle of honking cars behind you.
