900 Pubs And Restaurants Across Delhi Banned From Playing Recorded Music

Recently the Delhi Government passed a law that bans 900 establishments from playing recorded music. In fact, all the establishments serving alcohol will fall under the ambit of this law.

Why Tho?

Excise department presented the rule after residents complained of noise from pubs in places like Khan Market, Def Col & Rajouri! Moreover, when asked how live bands were less noisy, officials claimed that they’re ‘softer’ & ‘controlled’.

Additionally, the government will conduct inspection drives throughout the city across places deemed ‘restobars’. The rule will come into effect in the next few weeks.

And That Means

Basically, every establishment in Delhi [leaving family restaurants that don’t serve alcohol] will be banned from playing recorded music.

So, the next time you head out, remember that you might not find DJs playing in pubs, restaurants and clubs.
