So, two almost disastrous things relating to Red Fort were recently averted. The Archaeological Survey of India cleaned nearly 22,000 quintals of dirt from the ramparts of the Red Fort! In fact, the dust and air pollutants accumulated over 100 years had created a 2-meter thick layer of dust.
Moreover, the second problem that had been caused was to the Lahori Gate. The idea was to restore the terrace of Lahori Gate by removing a huge load of 2.5 million kgs of the earth.
Besides, if the dump had not been cleared, the gate by now would have come crashing down.
Additionally, the project will also focus on installing toilets, drinking water kiosks and landscape management.
