May Day is right around the corner and what better way to celebrate May Day than at May Day itself!
Every year May 1st is observed as May Day all over the world to salute all workers’ struggles.
So come to May Day Bookstore and Café, on the 1st of May to celebrate this day of solidarity.
The store opens at 1:00 pm and will go on till about 8:00 pm.
You can get your hands on some of the finest collections of new, used and rare books at the best bargains. But do plan to arrive early before all the good ones sell out!
They have got a super line up of performances and readings by Satyam Tiwari, Sanjay Rajoura, Sumangala Damodaran, Mandeep Raikhy, Arundhati Ghosh of IFA, , Soham and Somashree (student radicals from Jadavpur), Srabani Chakraborty (the GSCASH student representative in JNU), Mukul Mangalik and many MORE!
They also have an open mic, so if you wish to get your guitar along you will be most welcome to sing, or perform with and for your fellow book nerds! And if not this then you may also bring your home baked cakes and pastries that will be served at the reading!
They would be serving delicious snacks by Keith Goyden, a master baker and Vasant Saberwal, who is the reason behind May Day Bookstore getting into used books. They will also have freshly baked breads for you to buy for home.
The only thing that can make our favourite book even better is it paired with a hot steaming cup of coffee, and so as to not to disappoint you the guys at May Day will be serving the world’s best coffee, by the world’s best barista.
