As exciting as the garden festival looks, the country is devasted by the recent Pulwama mishap. The authorities of the 32nd Garden Tourism Festival at the Garden of Five Senses in Saket decided to put up two India Gates including the Amar Jawan Jyoti made of flowers as a tribute to the departed souls.
The national mood is sombre and respect for the troops is high throughout the country in the backdrop of the terror attack in Pulwama. The three-day festival has the theme- ‘Plants: lifeline for everyone’. Amid floral creations, vertical gardens and potted beauties, there were clowns and men in multi-hued attires dancing and entertaining the crowds. The event also has competitions in 30 categories for gardeners.
Not much can be done for the departed souls, only prayers for the families can help.
