India’s only nomination at the Oscars this year, the short film, Period. End of Sentence has bagged an Oscar for India and created history, guys. Shot in UP’s Hapur, the short-film has won the Best Documentary Short award at the 91st Academy Awards. The film is co-produced by Delhi-based producer Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment who’s done us so proud!

Guneet Monga grew up in Delhi and received a degree in mass communications from Madhubala Institute of mass communication and electronic Media affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi in 2004. She has movies like Gangs Of Wasseypur, Shaitan, Masaan and Lunch Box under her kitty.

The documentary deals with the deep social stigma of Menstruation that has been existing in our society since ages and still continues to exist in some places. Period. End of Sentence, featuring the real Pad Man Arunachalam Murgunantham, delves upon the work of real-life Pad Man Arunachalam Muruganantham. It is executive-produced by Guneet Monga and is co-produced by Ms Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment, which has backed films like The Lunchbox and Masaan.
