With the monsoon coming fast, there’s only so much that we all can do like carry an umbrella maybe. But do you know what you’ll do if the roads get waterlogged? Well, a federation of the RWAs in East Delhi wrote a strongly worded letter to the Delhi Government recently. The letter specified a list of things required to help commuters travel safely on waterlogged roads. And yes, they asked for inflatable boats!
30 Second Window:
- The request to provide inflatable boats in Delhi was specifically asked for the low lying areas in the eastern suburb of the city. Before this, during monsoons in Delhi, the city faced major water logging problems including areas near Pragati Maidan!
- The blame game between various sections of the government reached dramatic heights recently. PWD being blamed for not cleaning the drains properly this year was the hot topic of discussion. And if you remember, they were also blamed for not cleaning the streets earlier this year!
- So, the members of the RWA stated that the letter was written in all seriousness and a touch of sarcasm too! In fact, if you remember clearly before 2nd July Delhi witnessed major water logging problems in various parts of the city.
- Thus, it doesn’t come as a surprise that many people wish the Delhi Government to work with the PWD. And provide inflatable boats in the low lying areas of the city at least.
DforDelhi Recommends:
- That you gear up well for the monsoons. You know as well as we, that monsoons in Delhi can be both nice and water logged bad!
