Delhi Traders Will Sit With Begging Bowls To Protest Against The Sealing Drive

On Wednesday, hundreds of traders from the Confederation of All India Traders had staged a demonstration outside the Municipal Corporation’s headquarter at Civic Centre while observing the day as “ My Valentine-My Shop”.

The protesting traders were covering their mouth with black strips, holding placards and handing out roses.

The Chamber of Trade and Industries, another traders’ organisation with 400 traders associations as its members, has also announced to protest which shall take place from February 16th to 25th.

They said that the traders will gather outside the residence of seven Delhi MPs every day. While on February 25, they will gather outside every Minister’s residence, begging him to save their our shops and trades.

The traders have been going through a lot since the commencement of the sealing drive. While the resident association has declined all the proposed amendments in Delhi Master Plan 2021, the traders alleged that the sealing has gravely affected their lives!

The Confederation of All India Traders is also planning a Mega Rally today, on February 15th. This will be taking place from the Red Fort to the Ghanta Ghar.

Market associations of Greater Kailash, South Extension, Defence Colony, Green Park, Green Park Extension and Chandni Chowk will take part in the rally with a demand that the government must immediately bring a bill in Parliament to stop sealing.
