Delhi’s air quality in the last few days worsened so much that the air quality has reached the hazardous level! In fact, sources say that levels of fine pollutants known as PM 2.5 – the most harmful to health reached 703. Which by the way has created such a flurry that schools across Delhi might get closed!
Usually, Delhi’s air quality worsens ahead of winter! The cold air traps the pollutants while preventing them from dispersing into the atmosphere. A story in the Lancet medical journal last month said pollution had claimed as many as 2.5 million lives in India in 2015, the highest in the world.
Which begs the question – how can we all help in changing this and creating a better environment around us?
