From the current academic session, UGC will allow universities and higher education institutions to offer graduate and diploma programmes online!
In fact, according to certain officials, the draft regulations will be tabled in front of the UGC tomorrow. Moreover, according to UGC only institutions that have been in existence for 5 years or more will be granted the right to offer online courses! Additionally, the institutions would need a ranking in the top 100 National Institutional Ranking Framework for at least 2-3 years.
Which means, that most of the colleges under DU will be eligible to offer online courses. However, open universities and colleges will not be part of the online course offers by UGC.
