With its roots set in the Mughal era, Babu Shahi Bawarchi, in Matka Peer serves some of the best Biryani and Galouti Kababs in the entire Delhi!

The chefs at Babu Shahi Bawarchi make biryani by the kilo on a daily basis. People don’t really come here to eat food as much as they come to get food packed by the kilo.

The place is packed during lunch time and after 9 pm, and one usually has to make their way through the crowds to get to the counter. The menu is limited, so you can quickly decide what your order should be.

Of course, Babu Shahi Bawarchi’s biryani is what everyone comes here for. It is said that the chef’s ancestors used to serve Mughal King Shahjahan himself!

Their delectable biryani has kept Delhiites licking their fingers for years, and shall continue to do so in the years to come!

The ever famous biryani is served with tangy raita and a spicy green chutney. Their quantity serves more than promised and is easy on the pockets as well!

Apart from the biryani they also serve lip-smacking Galouti kababs and amazing mutton korma. Their mutton biryani and mutton kababs are equally delectable but are made to order. You need to inform them 24 hours in advance but then it is worth the wait!

So if you haven’t had a taste of Delhi’s oldest (and tastiest biryani) yet then head straight over there this weekend!
