The timeless art form, yoga, has gained noteworthy acceptance all across the globe since ages. Keeping this in mind, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a certificate programme on yoga, which is scheduled to start from July.
The courses will be offered by IGNOU’s School of Health Sciences, under the leadership of the school’s director, S.P. Arora. The university will roll out UG and PG courses for the yoga aspirants, and the students will get the hang of the rich history of yoga, the Pranayamas and Asanas, the health benefits of yoga and many more. The programme is surely gonna guide the students to embrace a pacified, rejuvenated lifestyle.
The yoga courses will be offered at the regional centres of the university in Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, Ladnun, Dehradun and Bhubaneshwar. One needs to have completed high school from any recognized university to enrol for the course. There’s gonna be three comprehensive courses in the yoga programme- intro of yoga and yogic texts; yoga and health; and Shat Kriyas, Yogic Kriyas, Asanas, Pranayama, Mantra Japa.
This praiseworthy initiative by IGNOU will give the nation a chance to have a greater number of yoga maestros, who’ll pave the way for a better and healthier living!
