32-year-old mom Diksha Chhabra from Delhi was recently crowned Mrs Body Fit 2017-18 at the Mrs India Earth Pageant, but there is more to this story than meets the eye.
Over a span of two-years, Diksha turned her life from being a person who was struggling with her weight, health, and career to becoming a fitness icon inspiring thousands of people on Instagram.
Two years ago, Diksha was a working woman, running a start-up school in Delhi along with being a mother to her five-year-old boy. Weighing over 90 kgs and the stress that came with her responsibilities, combined with her unhealthy lifestyle, led to her developing various medical conditions like hypothyroidism and PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease)
That is when she decided to take the reins of her life in her own hands and turn it around. She quit her job and decided to put all her focus on taking care of herself.
She started her work out at home, by going on walks, and eating less. She bought a treadmill at home and started watching a lot of work out videos, eventually losing 18 kgs in 6 months.
But Diksha didn’t stop at that. She aimed at having a toned body and started learning about strength training.
She completely switched her lifestyle, from being a vegetarian to including chicken and fish in her diet. During her strength training, she lost another 12 kgs and also achieved the body she always dreamt of. Now, she weighs a perfect 60 kgs.
She combined cardio for her endurance, fat burning and heart health, with strength training to build her muscles, strength and stamina. All of this not only helped her improve her self-confidence but also realised that fitness means more than just losing weight.
Today Diksha is a sports nutritionist, fitness trainer at Decathlon, a winner of a national pageant but more than that she is an inspiration to many women struggling with their body image.
Based on her own experience, she also offers personal training services along with a structured plan of action for her clients.
Diksha’s journey has given her a lot of confidence, and the ability to influence and inspire people to do the same.
If her story has inspired you as well, then stop procrastinating and make it happen like our home-girl Diksha Chhabra who has proved that nothing is impossible!
