Sorry, fast food fanatics! All McDonalds’ outlets will remain shut in the capital and north and east India for the next two weeks, starting 9 May. This news came in the wake of recent events after estranged partners McDonald’s and Vikram Bakshi ended their almost six-year-long bitter dispute.
As of now, McDonald’s India Pvt. Ltd has acquired full ownership of Connaught Plaza Restaurants Ltd after buying out former partner Vikram Bakshi’s 50% stake.
The firm said this shutdown is for a “comprehensive assessment of operational protocols and employee training.” The twofold objective behind this temporary closure is – to revamp the quality of food being served to the customers and ensure the welfare of the employees by giving them clarity about their future.
