If there is anything Delhi is famous for, then it is it’s mouthwatering, scrumptious street food! Serving the same to the Mumbaikars devoid of the rich flavours of Delhi’s food, Delhi Highway in Saki Naka, Mumbai just launched its new menu- Purani Dilli Ka Zayka.
The menu aims to take the Mumbaikars for a stroll into the lanes of Purani Dilli. With air filled with the aromas of the various spices, and fragrance of the specially prepared puris, halwa, jalebis and a lot more!
Their new menu includes the likes of Delhi’s street favourites, Chola Kulcha, Chola Bhatura, Halwa Nagodi, Badmi Puri, and a lot more.
The special menu was launched in the presence of many TV celebrities and has become a favourite in Mumbai ever since.
Some of the dishes that are worth a shot are Matar Kulche, Paani Poori Shots, and a variety of parathas which they claim are straight out of Parathe waali gali.
On entering the restaurant, you’d be served a welcome drink, closely followed by a bowl of melt in your mouth Dahi Bhallas with just the right amount of chutneys. Their main course includes dishes that are being served in Delhi since generations. Not just the main course, their desserts are equally drool-worthy and the perfect sugar rush you need after a scrummy dinner. Be it their Halwa Nagodi Puri made of semolina and saffron tastes heavenly along with their hot crisp jalebis, both are equally delicious.
This special menu of Purani Dilli ka Zayka is served on Saturdays and Sundays between 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and then from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
So, all those Delhiites in Mumbai this summer, if you end up craving the flavours of Old Delhi, the ones you’d most fondly call ghar ka khaana, then you know where to head to!
