So, we’re solemnly asking you to not blame yourself (entirely!). 😉 33% of pollution in Delhi comes from outside India.
In fact, studies show that 74% of the ultra-fine particles (PM2.5) in the city’s air come from outside NCR.
Pollution in Delhi comes from outside India
During the summer months, 33% of Delhi’s pollution comes from outside India. And while the NCR region contributes 24% during this time, 17% of the pollutants are attributed to places outside the NCR region.
Further, this means that the capital region generates only 26% of the pollution it bears in the air. However, during the winter months, the proportion of pollution changes and external sources contribute 64% in total.
This is quite horrifying isn’t it?
