So, peeps, 24 of Goa’s beaches will soon be marked as selfie free zones! And the reason? Well, it’s to ensure that people don’t drown during high tide!!
What are selfie free zones?
Recently, two Tamilian tourists died in a freak accident while posing for selfies on Goa’s beaches. In fact, while the two incidents were separate, the number of injuries due to selfies had been rising for a while.
Moreover, 24 unsafe selfie zones with signages had been identified.
Following is the list of unsafe selfie zones in North Goa:
- Baga River
- Dona Paula Jetty
- Sinquerim Fort
- Anjuna
- Vagator
- Morjim
- Ashwem
- Arambol
- Kerim
- And all beaches between Bambolim & Siridao
And here’s the list of unsafe selfie zones in South Goa:
- Agonda
- Bogmalo
- Hollant
- Baina
- Japanese Garden
- Betul
- Canaguinim
- Palolem
- Khola
- Cabo De Rama
- Polem
- Galgibagh
- Talpona
- Rajbagh
Additionally, signages in Goa will also feature pictorial instructions, emergency toll-free number and do’s & don’ts!
So, the next time you find yourself in Goa, don’t forget to keep the no-selfie zone in mind!
