Some have been there even before India flured the flag of independence, and some came up amidst the growing chaos of the city. Here are a few places in and around Delhi where you can go to find your perfect read.

1. Bahrisons Booksellers
One of the oldest and most reliable of the names in this business, they cater to all of your book needs. The store has been running for over 60 years now, and is headed by Mr. Balraj Bahri and Mr. Anuj B. Malhotra. Displaying a wide variety of books on neatly organized shelves, Bahrisons are the go-to people to inquire about any book on your mind.

2. Daryaganj Sunday Market
The Sunday street market where you can actually buy books using a weighing scale. Everything ranging from fashion magazines, comics, vintage and bollywood posters, as well as used books are sold here at lowest of prices. Bargain hard, check the missing pages and you are good to go.

3. Nai Sarak
This bustling street in Chawri Bazaar is the one stop solution for all your study books. Bookshops like Aggarwal, Kala Mandir provides all the course books of various universities around Delhi. One can also find novels, classics, plays, literary theories in the the shops here, all on discounts up to 30-40%.
Not only buying, you can sell off your old books in here, and use that money to buy some new reads.

4. Oxford Book Store
Located at Barakhamba Road, this book store cum café is a heaven for the bookworms. Find your perfect read from an array of genres, and when you are done finding your perfect read- just sit, relax, read and sip on your cup of hot piping tea. The cha bar café inside the store has a wide range of teas, coffees and snacks to offer at affordable prices. There is also a special reading/playing area for the kids, so that when you are book shopping, your niece, nephew or kid is not running about the whole building, or is probably lost.

5. Full Circle
A café cum book store, this place has a serene and creative feel to it. Located beneath Café turtle, it houses books in a variety of genres and categories. Take your book loot, and find yourself a seat at the cafe above. The food and beverages are to die for. We recommend trying Quiche, Lebanese platter, and Americano coffee in here come back, and make sure to thank us.
