Delhi’s Pollution is definitely not an unknown phenomenon. Although being one of the greenest cities in the country, the pollutions levels don’t seem to go down. Infamously known as the ‘gas chamber’ of the country, Delhi will soon lose almost 2000+ trees to give way to Dwarka Expressway. Well, its not as sad as it sounds. They would have to plant 26,750 new saplings under the compulsory afforestation guidelines.
Delhi government has granted permission for transplanting and cutting trees for construction of Dwarka Expressway. A few months back, Union Road Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stone for 6-lane expressway project connecting DND-Ring Road in Delhi with Western Peripheral Expressway near Sohna.
