Not many have heard of Japanese Festivals taking place in town. But God knows this is the best one out there. In fact, spread over 3 months, the festival has been divided into 3 sections – Music, Film and Dance. Hosted by the Japan Foundation in Delhi, the festival is a beautiful rendition of traditional Japanese fests.
I. Music
Where | Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre
When | 27th – 29th October
The Japan Foundation will be hosting a beautiful Jazz ensemble – Makoto Kuriya. Known to be one of the best musical acts the country has ever produced – Makoto plays the perfect tunes for that perfect evening! In fact, the festival will also showcase WASABI – a Japanese Traditional Music Concert.
II. Film Festival
Where | PVR Theatre Complex, Sangam Courtyard
When | 10th – 15th November
The film festival will majorly cover the latest releases from Japan. Whether it be full movies, short films or even selective movies, every day something new will greet your eyes!
III. Dance Festival
Where | Kamani Auditorium, Copernicus Marg
When | 8th December
Now, the dance festival is the crown jewel of this entire festival. It will not just showcase some amazing dance acts from Japan but also, few from India! That’s right people, expect traditional Japanese dances, Kathak and Indian Classical Music! Cool, isn’t it?
