Lately, travelling in Delhi has become very expensive. There will be a 35% increase in auto rickshaw fares!!
On Monday, Arvind Kejriwal gave an in-principle approval to a new fare slab structure after a meeting with auto unions. In fact, the new fare slab structure looks something like this –
- INR 25 for the first kilometre
- Followed by INR 25 for each of the subsequent ones
Presently, the fare structure charges the commuter –
- INR 25 for first the two kilometres
- And INR 8 for the subsequent ones.
Moreover, the new fare structure will amount to an increase of 35% for a distance of 5 kilometres. Additionally, it’ll increase by nearly 30% for a distance of 10 kilometres.

However, the plan will not be enforced without approval from STA (State Transport Department).
