Know It All In 30 Seconds
Peeps appearing for boards this year, we’ve got good news for y’all. Students of govt. schools in Delhi no more need to pay board exam fees, as the Delhi govt. has decided to take up the onus of the entire exam fees for all registrants of CBSE exams, irrespective of their category.
Until this year, the general and OBC category students were paying a registration fee of ₹1500 for the CBSE board exams, and the SC students were paying ₹50 for the same. When asked about the huge diff. between the two fee structures in a recent felicitation ceremony, Education Minister Manish Sisodia promptly announced that the govt. will pay the registration fees for all students from now on.
Also, there will be education scholarships for students on the basis of their family income level. Those belonging to families having an annual income of less than a lakh will get 100 per cent scholarship. If the family has an annual income between one and 2.5 lakhs, the student can get a 50 per cent scholarship. For students hailing from families with annual income between 2.5 and six lakhs, the scholarship will be 25 per cent.
This resolution by the Delhi govt. is commendably motivational, and will empower more students in the city, especially those belonging to the financially backward sections, to continue their education without worrying about financial constraints.
