Delhi Markets To Stay Closed For Two Days To Protest Against Sealing Drive

To Protest against the ongoing sealing drive, the Confederation of All India Traders has called for a two-day bandh in the Capital. Popular market across the city are likely to remain shut on February2-3 as part of the two-day shutdown!
In a meeting organised by Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), the decision was made in order to draw the attention of the Central Government to this matter.

The meeting was attended by 500 representatives of local associations. Earlier on January 23rd the markets like Khan Market, Greater Kailash 1 and 2, Defence Colony, South Extension, Connaught Place and Karol Bagh had observed a bandh in protest.

The trader’s body wants the central government to pass an ordinance or a bill which will allow authorities to make amendments to the Master Plan 2021.

CAIT has not yet announced the names of the market that will remain shut, but the list might include markets in Old Delhi as well.
