Here’s great news for all environment activists & lovers! The NGT (National Green Tribunal) will ban the use of disposable plastics, mainly used during grocery shopping. Delhi & the National Capital Region (NCR) will see this mandate in effect from Jan 1st, 2017.
While Delhi has been chilling with the smog & pollution, the NGT lashed out at the Government for showing laxity. Along with amount of time it took imperative steps to curb the quickly-escalating problem.
Along with banning plastic, NGT has also directed the MCD & other public authorities to effectively reduce dumped waste in the capital.
So next year, enjoy earthen pot chais instead!
