During September this year, the Delhi government launched doorstep delivery of services and in the first phase, they had launched 40 services that cost INR 50 each. The residents of the national capital get delivery of various government services, including driving license, marriage certificate, and ration card, at the place of their choice.
You will soon be able to apply for a seasonal bus pass to travel in DTC and cluster buses without standing in long queues. The ration scheme beneficiaries will also have the option to apply for new members or change their residential addresses without making rounds of the office for the food and supplies officer.
All these will be possible as the Delhi government has decided to expand the ambit of its doorstep delivery of services scheme by adding 35 facilities by the end of this month! You read that right. Before we ring in the new year, these improvements will be made in the services.
A tentative list of the new facilities has been drawn after extensive deliberations with the departments concerned. The new departments include – transport corporation, Delhi state industrial and infrastructure development corporation, drugs control, higher education, Delhi tourism, social welfare, food supplies, and more.
Soon, Delhiites will also be able to pay motor vehicle tax and get a new class of vehicle added to their driving license, register for bed and breakfast scheme, book religious tour packages, renew a pharmacy license or get a new one and more under this new scheme.
All you have to do is call on the helpline 1076 and the government will send a facilitator at the pre-decided time and location to help carry out the service. Government officials said that some services might be dropped from the list if the facilitators face technical issues filling up the form during the ongoing training.
