Here’s What Happened In Delhi This Year! It’s Been A Long Year Really

To make you realize how long 2018 has been, we have come up with a list of everything under the sun that happened in Delhi. This was a year of many firsts. Are you ready for it? Here goes.

  1. Polo Ralph Lauren, the brand by US designer Ralph Lauren and diffusion line of his eponymous label, has now launched a brick-and-mortar store in Delhi.

  2. Italian brand Love Moschino has opened an 1150-square-foot store at DLF Promenade, Vasant Kunj

  3. After recently opening flagship stores in Pune and Juhu, Mumbai, House of Masaba opened its first New Delhi flagship store.

  4. American bath products and skin care giant Bath & Body Works have come to India with their first flagship store in Delhi.

  5.  Delhi Duty-Free has opened the first Victoria’s Secret store at Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 3.

  6. New York-based online marketplace for handcrafted goods Etsy has launched in India. The India team, based in Delhi, aims to help local entrepreneurs sell their unique and handcrafted goods across the world.

  7. With the 24.82 km-long Janakpuri West-Kalkaji Mandir corridor of the Magenta Line inaugurated. The latest addition to the DMRC network is now fully functional.

  8. The Pink Line of Delhi Metro was formally flagged off and open to Public. The route is 21.56 km long and has a travel time of about 40 minutes. Connects North and South campuses of DU.

  9. Delhi Metro’s Aqua Line started trials and will be fully operational soon. The line connects Noida to Greater Noida.

  10. Delhi commuters can now use their metro cards in DTC buses.

  11. A new ISBT opened up in Dwarka. This Mini ISBT will be the commuting point for passengers who are heading to and from the airport.

  12.  Delhi‘s Signature Bridge was opened for public. Projected as India’s first asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge, with the gesture ‘namaste‘, the bridge is double the height of Qutub Minar.

  13. Around 1000 shops were sealed in South Delhi for land use violation.

  14. India Finally Legalised Love! Section 377 was de-criminalized. 2018 was the 11th year of Delhi’s Pride.
