Moti Bagh Metro Station To Get A Makeover By Artists And Schoolkids

After Arjangarh and Govingpuri Metro Stations, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is giving Moti Bagh station on the upcoming Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar corridor (Pink Line) an artistic touch.

To carry forward with it, a team of artists have been engaged to paint abstract art on the facade of the station facing the Ring Road and the adjacent flyover.

The work is expected to be completed within a week.

A specialised team has been selected to execute the artwork, which shall convey the message of greenery and preservation of the environment.

The piers of the Metro station on the Ring Road are also being decorated with traditional Indian Jali work. The Jali installations will be backlit and will also have night glow vinyl for a better aesthetic look and visibility during the night.

The seven pillars of the Metro corridor near the station will be decorated by girls from a nearby girls’ school.

The stations on the Botanical Garden-Kalkaji Mandir section were also decorated with artworks depicting culture, heritage and local landmarks.

In the past as well, DMRC had tied up with government bodies like National Book Trust, Delhi Tourism, Sahitya Akademi, India Habitat Centre, Ministry of Textiles and schools to set up the Metro premises as hubs of Indian art, craft, culture, literature and tourism.

Kudos, to DMRC for their effort to beautify the city!
