The Delhi Government is pondering over a plan to link Delhi’s forests to allow pedestrians and cyclists safer spaces,where they are no more at risk of being hit by bigger vehicles, that will result in reduction of accidents on roads.
Delhi Urban Art Commission and PWD are coming together with a project called Cycle Walks. This project is aimed to attract more people to the otherwise neglected forests and parks and it will also help in curbing pollution. The plan for safer spaces also aims to integrate pockets of forests and lakes within the city. Moreover this walk-able area’s beauty will be augmented with a spate of cafes, washrooms and small amphitheaters. A 100 km loop around Delhi’s major corridors will be initiated to make the the city more lively and connected.
