The Taj Mahal is the second best UNESCO world heritage site in the world, according to a new survey.
The monument of love was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. And it has been named 2nd best Worl Heritage Site after Cambodia’s Angkor Wat. An online survey was conducted by travel portal TripAdvisor, the survey lists the UNESCO Cultural and Natural heritage sites best rated by travellers around the globe.
Other popular heritage sites on the survey include the Great Wall of China, Machu Pichu Inca Trail, Inca citadel. Iguazu National Park, Italy’s Sassi, Auschwitz Birkenau and historic Krakow in Poland, the old city of Jerusalem in Israel and the historic areas of Istanbul in Turkey have also made to the list.
