So, here’s some respite for people who travel in cabs! Cabs entering or leaving Delhi will not charge toll tax until the 13th of September.
In fact, this rule will be applied to all app-based cab services in Delhi-NCR. This rule will be applied at 124 border points throughout the capital region. However, until recently, many commuters had complained of toll tax being charged due to lack of clarity.
Why will cabs not be charging toll tax?
So, the removal of toll tax from the final fare has been put in place due to the following reason:
- The toll collection was removed due to the placement of electric toll collection system
- Additionally, these 13 points comprise 85% of the vehicles leaving or entering
- In fact, the new system will be put in place at 13 prominent border points
