5 Street Foods No Delhiite Can Ever Live Without, PERIOD!

We’ve been in Delhi for the longest time. And in that time we’ve learnt something important! Our choice of street food is synonymous with everyone else in Delhi! You know it’s true because no other person, other than a Dilliwala is gonna love Chhole Bhature as much as we do. Nobody will love momos as much we do. Because it’s our staple diet, i-it’s what we live/breathe and well, EAT!

So, here’s a list of 5 street food items we all love. Rather, Delhi loves and where – if you’re an outsider – you can find it!

I. Chhole Bhature

Possibly Delhi’s favourite dish to check.eat.repeat – hogging on Chhole Bhature is a must! The piping hot Bhature and the pickle mixed Chhole are simply wow. They sing in your mouth and they sure as hell pack a flavour bomb!

II. Momos

Did you know there are places in Delhi that serve 97 types of momos? Oh yeah, they are so brilliantly cooked that the meat or veggies literally melt in your mouth! In fact, you can even find tandoori momos, fried, steamed…you name it!

III. Paratha

Don’t lose heart! You may be able to find paratha in a lot of other places but chocolate paratha? Nah-uh! Well, guess what, Delhi does have this amazing concoction and it’s delicious beyond our wildest dreams! Just imagine licking chocolate off of parathas! It’s way too food-gasmic to be true! But it is!

IV. Biryani

Spicy from the heart and deliciously sinful in dana dana. Delhi has a had a long affair with biryani. Whether you love veg or non veg, Delhi has enough options to make you go bonkers! Heck, there are places where you can even eat biryani for as low as INR 30 a plate!

V. Gol Gappa

Known as gol gappa in northern India, this crunchy ball of goodness is known to every chaat lover in Delhi. In fact, you will always find Dilliwalas asking for second or even a third helping of the paani! You’ll find a gol gappa vendor in every corner of the city but the exceptional places are few.

So, are you ready to hog? ‘Cause we know we are!!
