Delhi Metro Has Removed Token Selling Counters From 70 Stations!

The Delhi Metro Railway Corporation has removed ticket selling counters from 70 stations across Delhi. Which means that from now on 70 of the 164 stations in Delhi will only have Ticket Vending Machines.

30 Second Window:

  • This move was made to limit human interference and promote the use of TVMs in the ticket sale process.
  • Yet, we hear that metro stations near or at railway and bus junctions will continue to operate with counters. This decision was taken to ease the process for first-time users of the metro, in case they face hinderance.
  • Udyog Bhawan, Lok Kalyan Marg, Jor Bagh, Akshardham, Mayur Vihar I, Mandi House and Barakhamba Road. These are some of the stations that do not have ticket vending counters anymore.
  • Also, please note that DMRC had recently increased its fares. Which we hear will be revised again, soon!

DforDelhi Recommends:

  • That if you’re one of those people who travel by metro a lot, buy a smart card, it’s easy and convenient!
