So, here’s the deal guys! Comptroller Auditor General’s Office recently took out a report that said that the food served in Indian Railways is unfit for human consumption. You didn’t hog on any food, did you? Good! Because if you did, you may want to get yourself checked.
Here’s everything you need to know about the report –
- The CAG had conducted an inspection of 74 stations & 80 trains across zonal railways!
- Reports suggested that the cleanliness of the trains and the hygiene levels were way below par.
- Unpurified water from taps was used for making beverages, waste bins were not covered, washed or even emptied regularly!
- In fact, rats and cockroaches were found aboard the trains, no bills were generated for the meals provided. And the printed menu cards with tariff for the list of food items were not available with waiters or catering managers!
The study was conducted over 2 to 3 years and it suggested that nothing had changed in that time!
